On Sunday July 17th Bridgton Veterinary Hospital hosted it's third annual Pet Community Event. Many animal welfare groups and businesses braved the heat to educate the public about what goes on in our local pet community! Kanine Kare of South Paris came prepared for the high temperatures with a doggy wading pool and put on exciting agility and protection dog demonstrations. There were beautiful canine oil paintings by Ms Gay Freeborn on display, and our cat tree raffle raised $318 for The Rusty Fund!

Congratulations to Mary Larnard and Nancy George for winning the cat tree, and to Ginny Raymond and her Shetland Sheepdog, “Little Miss”, for winning the Best In Show photo contest!

We would like to give a special “Thank you!” to Village Kitchen and Bath for donating the cat tree; to Freeman Photography for photographing the event and donating a portrait session to the photo contest winner; and to Dianna Muszynski for the donation of two lovely, hand-made feeding bowl stations. In addition, we'd like to thank JessieBears dog treats for donating half their proceeds from the day to Maine Cocker Spaniel Rescue (What an awesome thing for them to do!), and to all the exhibitors and friends who donated their time and efforts to make Pet Community Event a success.

As always, we thoroughly enjoyed putting this event together. We had an amazing time talking with all the exhibitors and guests. Next July we hope to see them and others as our Pet Community Event continues to expand.
